Ordering Procedure and Scoring Service for the DIT:
Online or Paper/Pencil Administration
All orders begin with the submission of an online order form.
For Online Administration of the DIT:
To administer the DIT as an online survey:

- Your order number
- An invitation to a Dropbox folder for submission of your data once collection is complete.
- An authorized version of the DIT
- Our Center uses the Qualtrics survey platform, therefore we have this format available. If you plan to use Qualtrics, a (.qsf) formatted file will be sent via email so that you may upload the measure directly to your own Qualtrics account.
- If you choose to use another survey platform, we will provide you with an authorized pdf version of the measure so that it can be manually entered into the survey platform. Many researchers send us a link to the measure prior to administration of the measure so that it can be checked for format consistency.
3) When you are finished collecting data:
- Export the data in numerical format as either an Excel or SPSS data file.
- Upload the data to the Dropbox folder for which you received an invitation at the time of your initial order.
4) After your data is submitted:
- You will receive an invoice via email for the scoring fee according to the number of participants in your data set(s). The standard scoring fee is $5.50 for each participant in the sample. There is a minimum order requirement of 10; online samples of less than 10 will be accepted but the minimum scoring fee charged will be at the rate for 10 participants ($55.00). Please see the Scoring Fees section at the bottom of this page for more information about minimum order requirements and opportunities for discounted rates.
- Your invoice will include payment options and instructions (online by credit card, check by mail).
5) After payment is processed:
- Scored files are typically ready and returned within two weeks as long as payment has been processed.
- When your scored files are ready, you will receive an email that they are available for download from our shared Dropbox folder.
For Paper/Pencil Administration of the DIT:
To administer the DIT as a paper and pencil test: The DIT tests will transit to an online version. Paper orders must be returned by February 2025 for scoring. After this date, paper orders will no longer be accepted for scoring.
1) Complete and submit an online order form.
2) When your order form is approved, you will receive an invoice via email with payment options and instructions (online by credit card, check by mail). The invoice is calculated according to the number of tests ordered. Paper tests cost $5.50 per test, which includes scoring. Please see the Scoring Fees section at the bottom of this page for more information about minimum order requirements and opportunities for discounted rates.
3) Once payment has been processed, your order will be shipped. With your tests, you will receive a job submission form, which you will complete and return with your completed tests (we will not provide refunds for unused tests).

Scoring Service:
For each file submitted for scoring, the researcher will receive four files in return: a large data file with all of the variables in the original file and all of the (300+) variables used to calculate the DIT scores, a smaller file (with the word “scored” in the file name) which consists of only the (~20) variables included in the summary report (these variables appear in the first larger file as well), a pdf summary report and an SPSS output file which is essentially the same as the pdf summary but can be edited in SPSS. Data files are returned in SPSS format unless Microsoft Excel format is requested.

Scoring Fees
The standard scoring fee is $5.50 per participant. Scoring fees are the same for online administration and paper tests.
The minimum order for paper or online tests is 10. Online data samples of less than 10 will be accepted however the minimum scoring fee will be $55.00, equivalent to the scoring fee for 10 participants. Discounts will not apply to orders with 10 or less participants.
For each additional scoring group beyond the first, a $50 charge will be applied. To clarify, if you have more than one group requiring scoring, an additional $50 will be charged for each one.
Researchers who meet one of the following certain criteria may be eligible to apply for grant assistance with scoring fees:
1) Student Researchers. Students must provide student email address and name of academic advisor with contact information for verification within description of study.
2) Researchers with a previously established DIT account, continuing usage as part of an ongoing project. Continuing researchers will be asked to provide previous account number(s) within their study description.
3) Researchers working with sample sizes with 300 or more participants. Researchers will be asked to provide estimate of sample size within description of sample.
